Hello! Welcome to the Harrybrooke Weddings Blog! I want to introduce myself: My name is Lindsey! I have recently stepped into the role of Event Coordinator // Wedding Planner at the beautiful Harrybrooke Park in New Milford, Connecticut. I am SO excited to start this new journey, and to bring you along for the ride! I have years experience in the Wedding Industry - in fields from fashion, bridal retail, entertainment, even the lighting and technical side! Being a recent bride myself, I know how important the wedding planning process is, and I also know how daunting it can be. That's why I will be introducing "Wedding Wednesdays!" Every other week I will feature a blog post to help you throughout the planning process for your special day! First things first - Aesthetic You're newly engaged. Where do you begin? Pinterest. A bride-to-be's bible. It's very easy to get lost scrolling through the hundreds of pictures of beautiful dresses, centerpieces, invitations, decor...the list goes on and on. It becomes overwhelming! That's why first things first - aesthetic. What is your theme? That's the big question! Do you want a fairy tale wedding? Fit with a ballgown, cathedral length veil, and ballroom venue? Or do you want something more laid back and rustic? Burlap and lace, wood signs, a light flowy dress fit with a flower crown and loose curls, set in a barn venue. That's the beauty of your wedding day. YOU get to decide your theme and how you want your wedding to be. Once you find a theme or aesthetic that best reflects you - run with it! Today's Trend Rustic. By definition, rustic is an adjective used for things related to the countryside. In the wedding industry, "Rustic” is being applied to weddings that pay tribute to the great outdoors either through an outdoor venue or by incorporating natural or nature-inspired elements in their wedding. Rustic weddings are currently trending right now in the wedding world. Laid back venues with an emphasis on natural beauty - lakeside ceremonies, barn receptions, Harrybrooke Park! Harrybrooke is the perfect backdrop for your rustic wedding. A garden ceremony, dancing to music under the stars in the field, photos by the picturesque Still River - all natural beauties. Think about it - what's your aesthetic? What's your theme? Once you have an idea - run with it! It will be easier to choose a venue, wedding dress, decor, and much more once you decide on your "theme!" So, what is YOUR theme? I have heard of many different wedding themes! Some of my favorites being "enchanted forest" and "upscale picnic." Tell us what your theme is in comments below!
