![]() Oh October, how I wish you could stay forever. Fall, such a golden season, and living in New England, we can experience some of the most beautiful colors Mother Nature has to offer. The list of why I love the park is a long one so for now, I will focus on fall in the park. Sitting in the Harden House Museum on this warm October day, windows are open and the park is full. Outside I see walkers, runners and children on their bicycles, all enjoying this beautiful day we have been given. It’s not only what I see that brings a smile to my face but also what I hear, the sound of the leaves rustling in the wind, crunching underneath the step of each passer-by. I decide to take my laptop out on the deck to enjoy the sound of the falls off the Still River. The Still River, one of the many reasons the Hardens decided to build their dream home on this stunning piece of land in New Milford, CT. The falls always leave me feeling composed. To sit and listen to the smooth sound of the water rushing over the rocks is such a treat. I can only imagine the Hardens must have felt the same. What a treasure they had, having this right in their back yard. What a gesture it was for them to leave their home to be enjoyed as a museum and their land to be appreciated by all as well. This fall in the Harden House Museum we have hosted many wonderful events such as, a surprise 75th birthday celebration, anniversary party, weddings and more! The park has also hosted other celebrations in the Gated Garden and Conn Pavilion as well. The picture above is of an elegant dinner party, set up in the Harden House. It is also the perfect setting for a cocktail party as well. We have hosted many celebrations as well as fundraisers here.
